What is FAB Festival?
Middlewich’s flagship event of the year which attracts visitors from across the world, the FAB Festival has secured Middlewich as a great tourist centre with a vibrancy and charisma. Middlewich FAB is now one of the most successful events in the English folk calendar, and is a long weekend of music, dance, narrowboats, along with great pubs and unique trade. Supported by our fantastic Middlewich businesses year in, year out, and drawing in names such as Ward Thomas, Lindisfarne and The Neville Staple Band, FAB is well and truly on the map. This year the festival celebrated its 25th birthday, and we’re sure it will continue for many more years.
A weekend to remember
From Friday through to Sunday, Middlewich FAB sees lots of great artists performing either on the FAB Main stage, or in one of our many FAB Fringe venues dotted across the town. Elsewhere, the town is entertained by various dance parades performed by groups hailing from all across the UK, and shows taking place at our iconic Bull Ring amphitheatre. Our famous canals are lined with hundreds of beautifully decorated narrowboats, often squeezed in barge-to-barge, as well as trading boats that make up the spectacular “floating market”. Along the canal side festival go-ers can browse an amazing range of arts and crafts, homemade food and drink such as cheeses, sweets and coffee and antiques – all from a narrowboat. During FAB, visitors can also find many trade stalls on land at multiple locations across Middlewich, making for a varied and unique weekend of festivities.
